About

I started working in complementary therapy in 1998 when I trained in reflexology at Life Force in Colchester and subsequently became a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR).

In 2000 I gained a Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage from the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC), in 2001 I qualified in Sports Massage with the International Institute of Sports Therapy (IIST) and in 2003 achieved my Aromatherapy qualification through the IFA registered Ager School.

I continue to update my knowledge and training in the two therapies of reflexology and massage to enable me to give my clients individual treatments specific to their needs.

I have been a Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) Network Affiliate Member since 2002 and continue to attend workshops in this aspect of reflexology, the most recent being Palliative Care, Older People and Dementia presented by Lynne Booth, the founder of VRT. I have also trained in Hand Reflexology, Maternity Reflexology, Lymphatic Stimulation via the Feet and Precision Reflexology. I have attended workshops run by the Danish Reflexology School, Touchpoint: ‘Roundabout the Foot’ and ‘Roundabout Stress’.  Touchpoint started delivering their workshops worldwide via webinars which they started during Lockdown in 2021 and I have attended the majority of them covering many, many topics and aspects of health. This has increased my knowledge and reflexology skills tremendously.

I am interested in the remedial side of massage and have attended courses to increase my skills in this respect. I have completed courses in Holistic Medical Massage, Effective Stretching, HMM for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Myofascial Release and Hot Stone Massage with Jing Advanced Massage Training.

In 2009 I was initiated in the First Degree of the Usui System of Reiki Healing and am qualified to give Reiki healing.

Over the 5 years prior to the pandemic, I became fascinated by fascia (connective tissue). A whole new industry in complementary therapy is developing around this part of human anatomy and its importance to health and well-being. I have achieved a diploma in Body Realignment with Body in Harmony Training  and have also trained in Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork and Bonework and Sue Hitzmann’s Melt Hand and Foot Instructor’s course.

I attended the 2016 and 2018 British Fascia Symposia.

I am a member of The Complementary Therapists Association (part of the Embody group) and am insured through them by Holistic Insurance Services.
